Last year we were struggling with the idea of getting annual passes to Disneyland.
Now, if you’re local, you understand this dilemma because they’ve jacked up the prices a TON!
It’s wild to me that we were able to get T W O annual passes this year for free by using credit card points to cover them.
One thing about me is, I don’t enjoy spending money on things when I’m unsure if they’ll be worth it in the end. With two young kids.. Disneyland passes could really go either way!
Would they be able to handle the full day?
Would we spend hours in traffic each time driving home?
How much will we spend in food/parking each time we visit?
Credit card points made my dream come! We were able to afford these passes AND didn’t have to stress about the cost involved with them.
I am going to share with you exactly how we did it, so you can take your family, too!
MOST credit cards will allow you to turn your points into statement credit/cash back.
Now, MOST points people will tell you to never do this because it’s not the ‘best’ use of your points & you’re not getting the ‘most’ value out of them.
My opinion? you do you.
If it weren’t for credit card points, we’d never have had an extra $1700 laying around.. and to be frank, we really don’t even have the extra $110/month that the monthly payment for two passes came to.
STEP 1: Purchase tickets with a card you’re currently working on a minimum spend on
STEP 2: Use your sign up bonus points for statement credit towards your purchase!
EX: 65,000 points = $650 (meaning, we used 170,000 points for two Disneyland Enchant Keys)
STEP 3: Enjoy the Disney magic knowing your passes were F R E E!
How to get points
My FAVE bank points are what I used - which, is a little crazy because I know the value would’ve been higher with transferring them to a travel partner. BUT! I also know I can and WILL earn plenty more points. No sense in hoarding them!
Here’s my top 3 card picks for your next Disneyland Magic Keys!
